BBA’s two principals are senior practitioners in their complementary fields of strategic business development and communications, with experience at senior management and governance levels in both the public and private sectors. They have been joined by Paul Bridger who is a very experienced AI software engineer.
Godfrey Bridger, ME (Elect), MBA (Exec) Principal
Godfrey is a business development and commercialisation specialist. He is also a Director of the specialist consultancy, Strategic Lighting Partners, which provides advice to the public sector in Australia and New Zealand on the transition to LED public and street lighting. He is a former CEO of New Zealand’s Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (EECA), served for a term on the board of Auckland-based Mercury Energy (the largest electricity distribution company in NZ), was an elected member of Auckland Regional Services Trust (which owned the largest Port, Bus and Water Companies in NZ) and also served as a member of the Waikato Energy Forum that established the draft Waikato Regional Energy Strategy. During a term as Business Development Manager with Counties Power, he doubled its fibre optic network and investigated green generation projects achieving investment-ready status for an integrated building solar PV project and green data centre. He also assisted with the development of Wintec’s student eco-village. Drawing on his background as a Crown Research Institute sector leader for bioengineering and agri-technology, Godfrey has facilitated agritech start-ups to gain investment within the Waikato Innovation Park Technology incubator, and undertook a short assignment as GM R&D for animal health delivery systems manufacturer Simcro. Crystal Beavis, MA (Hons), PGDip Mgmt (Distinction), APR, MPRINZ
Principal
Crystal is an award-winning marketing and communications consultant with more than 25 years’ experience in a range of sectors including education and research, health, utilities and financial services in New Zealand and the UK. She helped establish and promote two international conferences on LED public and street lighting for the public lighting sector on behalf of specialist consultancy Strategic Lighting Partners. Prior to that she spent six years promoting the University of Waikato’s research expertise, branding and launching the university’s research institutes and centres, and marketing its specialist research services. She is a former corporate and public affairs manager for Medicines NZ, and a former President, now a life member, of national patient organisation Diabetes Youth NZ. Prior to moving to the Waikato, Crystal served for a term on the Auckland District Health Board. Crystal moved into marketing and public relations consulting after working as a business journalist for the NZ Herald and National Business Review. Her LinkedIn profile can be viewed here.
